MAIS 5390.  Independent Study.

MAIS Independent study can be in a variety of disciplines, usually from within the College of Liberal Arts. Each independent study course will be a distinct course of study designed for an individual student, offering a course plan or syllabus with a clear statement of objectives, a written course of study, and a written set of assignments suitable for a final assessment of learning acquired. One example might be to have the student meet with a regularly scheduled class with a complete set of readings and assignments and assessments that have been adjusted to meet the requirements for graduate level credit.
